About This Quote

To be a good pastor one must have the wisdom of a Solomon, the intuition of a Newton, the patience of Job, the thinking faculties of an Einstein, and a compassion likened unto the Son of God. When it comes to leadership alone, we can think of Moses and Jesus. However, if we consider how to become a good pastor we must consider all of these traits. If you want to be a good pastor you need to be wise; you need to be able to see situations before they happen and make the right decision as well as be able to communicate this decision as well as any other point in time.

This takes wisdom. You also need to have patience as you know things aren’t always going to go as planned. That’s where intuition comes in as you know when something needs to be done and it’s your job as a leader to make sure that something is done.

You need to be able to think like an Einstein because you know that not everything is logical and that some things defy logic. Finally, let’s talk about compassion. It’s an ability that we all possess but we often forget about it.

Sometimes being compassionate means being understanding when someone doesn’t understand or being understanding when someone does understand but just doesn’t do anything about it.
